I usually pull inspiration from whatever I have on hand. I’ve read recipes that instruct you not to add salt until serving so the veggies don’t get watery… am I the only weirdo who likes this?? It’s like a delicious salty soup after the veggies are all gone… almost like salad pot liquor 😂
This combo is a favorite…
Italian dressing season packet
Pinch of sugar
I cut all my veggies to a similar size. Sprinkle salt, about a tsp of Italian dressing seasoning, a pinch of sugar, and then a tablespoon of vinegar. Toss and refrigerate for a few hours.
Just use whatever veggies you like or have on hand. Toss them together with a pinch of salt & sugar and a light amount of your favorite dressing. Let that marinate a while and the flavors will come together, soaking into the veggies!
This helps you not need to douse the salad with too much salt or too much dressing. A little bit can go a long way if you let it marinate (;
